11/12/10 12:26 am - "broken glass, and razor wire..."

ha... didnt even know i still had one of these... wonder if anybody is still on this...

10/17/07 09:16 pm - "... starfuckers, incorporated..."

my interpunk order came in the other day... i got these goodies:

minor threat- not ian album cover t-shirt

riverdales- storm the streets cd

rites of spring- end on end(reissue) cd

a sticker each from operation ivy, descendents, and the promise ring...

the new target right around the corner opened up this past weekend... they were giving out free goodie bags at the pharmacy filled with cool sample sizes and neat products, and you cant beat new releases for 9.98...

today was hard, but fantastic at jimmy johns, we only had one other driver show up besides me, but, i cleaned house with 3 catering orders along with the rest of my stops... i came home with a phat $150 in my pocket...

also, on monday, i went in to practice at the bowling alley, and someone needed a sub, so i filled in and was tearing it up, 188, 235, 181 with only 2 splits, everything else was strike or spare, and to cap it off, my ticket was called for strike pot, and i got up and killed one to win $94... sweet...

i've had a NIN disc playing alot because i love the song "starfuckers, inc."...

jones soda's monster mojito is a tasty drink with a little zing...

that is all.

10/13/07 04:39 pm - good news for people who love bad news...

well, not all of its bad news...

my trip to fantasyland records today netted me some nice tunes:

dinosaur jr.- 3 song single on SST from like '88

the damned- john peel sessions 4 song ep

nine inch nails- the day the world went away single with starfuckers, inc.

modest mouse- good news for people who like bad news

pere ubu- worlds in collision

local h- pack up the cats

rocket from the crypt- scream, dracula, scream

generation x- valley of the dolls(on vinyl)

and, ted, the bartender at midtown bowl gave me 3 cds from an old boston hardcore band called out cold, he's friends with the drummer, and one of them warped sense of right and wrong is awesome, its from 95 or 96 and is real fast, tight hardcore...

sarah and i watched monster squad the other night, we got it on special edition dvd... what a great movie...

she also had the job at bassett, so now maybe she will be much happier with her working situation...

the buckeyes won today, rolling along to 7-0 and staying atop the big ten...

its nice to see the yankees sitting at home and missing out on the world series...

crazy night at the bowling alley last night... first a lady who crossed the foul line(choosing not to pay head to our numerous signs of "danger, do not cross foul line" above every lane) fell on her ass, hit her head i think, and fucked up her legs, i called 911 and she got taken away in a stretcher...
then just about 20 min. later, right before we close, a fight brakes out between 2 girls and had to be seperated by security...

oh, and i dont remember if i mentioned that the street dogs/tiger army show the other night was awesome, and that i have picked up my against me!/sage francis/world inferno friendship society tix for nov. 6 already, because that will be a fantastic show...

also ones we're going to:

the lawrence arms/the falcon/american steel/sundowner- oct. 26

lucero- oct. 27

agnostic front/death before dishonor- oct. 30...

time to veg. a little before heading into work at midtown bowl...

9/30/07 11:10 pm - "... i know you're a little libertine, i know you're a cannonball..."

i've always loved that song, that opening bassline is classic and that wailing, then skittering guitar is cool...

i have regained a little of my bowling sparkle again, despite a 157 second game, i sandwiched that with a 193 first game, and 204 third game, both of those all spares and strikes with no misses or opens, plus my team took 5 out of 7 points from a top 4 team...

both jobs have their tough moments on me, but, i feel good about them... i was told by both of my managers that i have been working hard and doing a great job, i've worked for years and never been told that at furn. fair back in ohio...
i mean, i dont need daily affirmation to go to work and to be productive, but, its really nice to know you're doing good work...

oh, and last night at midtown bowl was an interesting event: a bowling competition between the furries and the klingons set up by some people and covered by creative loafing and G4tv... i'll try and get some pics up once co workers send me the developed shots...

i have bolstered my cd collection once again with these purchases:

X- los angelos

smashing pumpkins- cherub rock(import single)

afi- s/t(this being a collective of their nitro records years, when they were still hardcore)

the breeders- last splash(kim deal is hot...)

fugazi- the argument...

new metalocalypse comes on shortly... it will brutalize your face off...

9/25/07 11:14 pm - daydream nation...

what a shitty day at work...

due to corporate being there, we had like the whole crew of 4 drivers there, normally 3 is good, enough to make everything on time, and still make money...
with this amount, i hardly had any stops, and the ones i was getting were tipping on the nil to nada scale, even only 5 fucking dollars on a $280 catering order, that was not only on time, but, i had to wait for their asses because they werent ready...

so, whats a guy to do?... well, sarah and i were going to get the metalocalypse dvd/dethklok cd(dethalbum) combo pack, but, both target and best buy were sold out...

i ended up getting alot of tunes anyway... they are as follows:

sonic youth- daydream nation(deluxe edition w/ live tracks disc)

foo fighters- echoes, silence, patience, and grace

smashing pumpkins- zeitgeist

pinhead gunpowder- compulsive disclosure(had it before, but, got stolen with those discs last year)

mxpx- secret weapon(special edition w/ bonus tracks and bonus dvd)
(yes, i do already have secret weapon, but, i'm a sucker for bonus tracks i dont have, and i'm a completist when it comes to my favorite bands...)

pixies- surfer rosa...

i've been told that its a classic album and i'd like to hear some songs other than the ones we all know and love from them from the wave of mutilation: best of disc...

sleep soon, bank in the morning, hair cut and walmart in the evening after work...

9/24/07 09:22 pm - "... son, i'm way past the minimum, it's a verb millenium..."

i've been head bobbin' to mos def and talib kwali otherwise known as black star... damn good hiphop...

work has been work... tips were meager today, and most of the other few drivers are sketchy at best at helping out, thats if they even show up...

midtown bowl is getting better... i've talked to rusty to get my schedule down to 2 days a week, so i can try and get more things done and spend more time with sarah...

i've sucked in league still, though... my average continues to drop...

in other news, reds are stinking up the place again, i just want to finish 3 place ahead of the cardinals...

also, bengals cant get enough defense to win games that the offense gives to them...

at least the buckeyes are on point and atop the big ten...

oh, i got my car detailed, inside and out at the place around the corner... nice guys, good price and fantastic work... i was talking shop about intelligent hiphop with a couple guys while i was waiting...

haircut will be on the list this week, sarah's car stuff tomorrow, and the dropkick murphys/horrorpops show is thursday night...

9/17/07 11:02 pm - "... we can be the bands we want to hear, we can define our own generation..."

mr. swartsell is one okay guy... you should say hi to him if you meet him on the street...

um... pretty much lots of work have happened lately...

i really wish i could get my workload cut back at midtown bowl, hasnt happened yet, though...

sarahs court date was today... man, red tape burocracy(sp?) at its finest... 2.5 hours of sitting through stupid people and a fucking dick of a judge, who hands out fines like gideons hand out bibles to hotels...

on the plus side: i heard these awesome songs on 99X today:
against me!- thrash unreal
green day- welcome to paradise
hum- stars
the clash- should i stay or should i go?
the clash- rock the casbah
depeche mode- personal jesus
folk implosion- natural one

that my friends makes for a good set of tunes...

also, i recently got the chance to hit up fantasyland records and i came away with these goodies all on vinyl:
the misfits- legacy of brutality
the clash- combat rock
the clash- 4 song 7in. (includes i fought the law)
agnostic front- riot, riot, upstart
green day- insomniac(completly sealed, never been played or opened)
and the tour de force...
green day- live in italy '93(special soundboard import... on GREEN TRANSLUCENT VINYL!!!!!)...

man, i love this city...

9/3/07 10:38 pm - in on the kill taker...

there has been much happening lately...

to start- today was fugazi day at criminal records, they played fugazi tunes all day to celebrate the 20th anniversary of fugazi's first show...

this pleased me, as sarah and i jaunted over there after work so i could do some record shopping, and record shop i did... i spent 105 bucks between my tips in cash in my pocket, my debit card, and my credit card... i'm a sucker for sweet vinyl pickups... what did i nab up you say?.. why, let me tell you...

on cd- against me!- new wave(deluxe special edition with bonus live show dvd) and,
fugazi- in on the kill taker, which i've long been told their best album...

on vinyl-
the 101ers- elgin avenue breakdown(stummers pre-clash group)
the new pornographers- challengers
the loved ones- keep your heart(for only 9.99, even...)
MC5- back in the u.s.a.

also, for all my purchasing, the criminal records guy gave me a free tote bag and a free elvis costello and modest mouse 7 in....

and due to sarah's new found penchant for hitting up utorrent, i now have the complete lawrence arms discography, complete lifetime discography, social d's greatest hits, silversun pickups- carnavas, and the queers- beat off...

i also have put some of our computer tunes to disc with hum- youd prefer an astronaut and fugazi- 13 songs...

in non music news, car shopping with sarah has begun due to her car being totaled from her accident 2 fridays ago... we spotted a nice 99 saab with sunroof and leather interior for under 5K that she seems to want, its quite nice...

plus, lots of work lately... a couple drivers have quit at jimmy johns, leaving me with a large workload, tips have been quite nice for the most part, though... today sucked however... only 8 stops in 6 hours with a meager 19 dollars in tips coming home...

at midtown bowl lots of changes are going on... we are now, no longer a 24 hour business... 2 guys are no longer working there, one the full time over night guy, he got fired for not showing up to work many times, and an assistant manager is gone for reasons unknown, but, lots of free games had been given out possibly by him, and a shitload of money went missing that could possibly be from one of those two... so, now we are closing at 3am, and my shifts are much more easy for me to handle with my jj's workload, i seem to be doing like 5 or 6pm to 1 or 3am on or around the weekend...

lots of shows coming up this month, that we should be attending, even with my past due electric bill and my absorbantly high phone bill due to calling every customer trying to explain as the only driver, why i'm so late to them...

gotta go to the shows... music is living...

tomorrow brings a busy day of things to do...

8/19/07 03:38 pm - "... we can have a good time, you and me..."

man, what a great time last night...

me and sarah were hanging out with the backseat virgins before, during and after their set at ethyl's diner in roswell... we had alot of fun...

after hanging out and having some drinks, we all went to IHOP for some breakfast...

i miss our new 'bama friends already, and our chattanooga friends as well we met...

rapid randy of bsv is a great guy... we talked about all kinds of bands, and people and just all kinds of shit...

cant wait to get another chance to hang out with all of them again...

8/16/07 08:41 pm - "... communication breakdown..."

that was always, and still is my favorite zepplin tune... i just got a 2 disc remasters album the other day... also, i have the new mxpx, the first weezer disc, and bad religion's new one new maps of hell being played and/or picked up lately...

ikea and their swedish meatballs are okay by me... i like to eat 20 of them and crave more...

davey havok is coming to town with his blaqk audio project... basically its half of afi doing all electronica songs heavily modeled after depeche mode/joy division... i dig it...

an interesting bill of velvet revolver, alice in chains and sparta are playing soon... hmm...

i never thought i'd be so happy with paying a scant 2.75 a gallon for gas the other day, but, thats the lowest i've seen as far back as i can remember recently...

tips have been very nice along with better hours at jimmy johns lately... i'm pretty happy there...

oh, and quite excited about seeing the backseat virgins sat. night... i've talked with them back and forth for a while, and it'll be nice to get to meet them...

and the giants/braves game we went to the other night was a decent time... bonds had already broke the record a few games back, so at this point, the game meant a little less to watch since we dont like either team, and cant stand bonds himself... just wanted to go to boo him mightily, which i and many others at the stadium did every time he got up, until being pulled about halfway through for a replacement...
i did my part by wearing a shirt with a big asterisk written in marker on it...

time for laundry finishing...
